Scaffolding Strategies Based on Scaffolding Types

In all scaffolding works, one of the most important things to do is to plan first. Planning helps you carry out the work safely, identify hazards and find ways to minimise or eliminate the risk.

However, different kinds of scaffolding requires different planning. Certain scaffolding strategies have to be adopted for every scaffolding time so as to manage the risk and use the scaffolding effectively.

Types of scaffoldings and corresponding strategies

Birdcage Scaffoldings

Birdcage scaffoldings are mainly used for ceiling works and as. Minimise the risk of incurring unwanted accidents and other unfavourable incidents by using this type of scaffolding for such purposes only.

Further, to properly erect or dismantle birdcage scaffoldings, one good strategy is to use scissor lifts. Aerial work platforms, more commonly known as work lifts, are mechanical devices which help people reach high areas such as your ceilings. It moves vertically and is a good tool for scaffolding works especially for this type.

Tower Scaffolding

This is an independent type of scaffolding that does not need to depend on the support of another structure. However, it is important to make sure that it is firmly rested on level ground and its feet or wheels properly supported.

Also, always construct this type of scaffolding with modular, frame or tube and coupler scaffolding to ensure stability.

Mobile Scaffolding

It is basically a mobile tower scaffolding. For this type, it is important to check first the ground where the scaffolding will be used. It is advisable to use mobile scaffolding on firm and level grounds.

Unless the scaffolding is moving, it is always imperative to keep the brakes on castors always locked. Avoid using mobile scaffoldings on windy conditions as this could affect the stability of the scaffolding. A swaying scaffolding poses risk not only on the safety of the project but most importantly, of the workers themselves.

Scaffolding strategies differ based on their types and uses. Despite the difference, however, it is important to note that strategies must be adopted both for safety and work effectiveness reasons.
